split in 1973 as he struggled with alcoholism

Maurice wrote many of the band's hit songs, and his high vocals helped

The 1980s saw the brothers move into writing and producing, before 1987

In the 1990s, the Gibbs received numerous awards and were inducted into
the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
